Had offer of a Gonic. Really don't know much about them and have never shot one. I know they have different bore, as if there were a standard, but is it under or over bore. Do they take sabots well? How about regular bullets, special buy or what. Gun looks good and was used very little. Do they tend to be shooters or just ordinary. Of course they are BP or subs only. Any insight and discussion will be appreciated. Thanks, 10

I had two of them and my sons were featured in his brochures with an elk and antelope they took 20 years ago or so. The closed ignition had several problems stemming from the blowback being trapped in the ignition area. We had several misfires, one on a giant bull, the spring failed to have enough pressure to set off the cap. The owner said I should have put a penney or something behind the spring to increase the pressure. I sold these soon after, I would avoid a gun thats discontinued. If you want to spend less than $1000, go with a TC, up to $1500, go with a Remington centerfire or Savage ML II Pacnor conversion, you'll be very satisfied either way IMO, Ray
