I am working up a load in my 50cal. savage 10ml 11 for the remington or hornady 300 grain .458 bullets and wanted to know which part number of Harvestor crush rib sabot has worked for you. I am changing the bullet and primer for next deer season and was looking for some experienced help for the sabot. Thanks Timberman

just an fyi if you are going to be buying sabots anyway. You might want to get some harvester smooth sabots. My gun liked them better than the BCR.
Also another trick to try that worked well in my gun was to cut the sabots down to the length of an MMP short black sabot. In my gun it helped greatly reduce flyers and tighten up the groups.
Hope this helps,

what load were you using before? was it hard to load or easyto load. it may help some here determine if you have a tight or loose bore. this can play a big part in the sabot you choose. if you call harvester they may even sent a sample pack if different sabot for you to try to get the right one you need.

Thanks for all the imput, I was using the hornady 250 gr .451-2 with the short black mmp. These took two hands to get them down the barrel and seated. These shot very well but I wanted to go to the .458. I also tried some black crush rib h15045BR with a nosler C.Technology in the 300 grain .458, some I could hardly get down the barrel and some without a lot of pressure. I thought it may be either a difference in sabot size or variance in bullet dia. not having a caliper to measure the bullet Im not sure which.
