SS and regular stock, the rear sight cant be adjusted low enough to get proper aim, all shots still high with rear slight adjusted all the way rearward(low) but still perched on the mount. It seems I need either a lower front fiberoptic sight or the ability to lower the rear sight even further. has anyone else had this issue? thanks

messed with it further and cant make the sights work ( all shots go high, meaning the front sight needs to be taller? or the rear sight needs to be lower). My face rides low on the stock, top of stock maybe an inch under my eye. has anyone swapped out these sights for others and if so, which ones. I like fiberoptics by the way. thanks

Need to see some pics, just guessing the front site can be swapped with many on the market. www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=16338/avs|Style_1=Fiber%20Optic/Product/RIFLE_FIRE_SIGHTSHere is a place to start and these are just a few. www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=9643/Product/PEEP_SIGHTOr, peep is more to my liking= longer site radius, site is higher for better focal plane, and if using a scope I have my back up site in my backpack. This means weaver base, and a new front site. Install the back site first. The front site is made of duct tape just to get a height, than bore sight by cutting or adding tape. With the duct tape fire some rounds and cut to the rite height (or add duct tape). Now having the exact inches in hand can order the correct front site or blade the first time. If not sure call the techs at Brownells to assist you.

this is a new one to me. I dont remember seeing this problem before. I think maybe a call to Joe DeGrande may be in order. maybe it had a wrong sight installed from factory by accident? what load are you using?

thanks for the replies. Is Joe an employee of Savage? I can not figure how to make the sights work for me, as I was using 250 XTP's and 34 gn of V110. too high at 50 and 100 yards as noted. with the EGW base on the gun, the rear sight is just barely visible. seems like I need a lower rear sight (which I couldnt see over the base) or a taller front site which is already pretty tall. will have a scope on the gun, just want iron sights for back up thanks

Try 40 to 44 grains. Your load sounds real light and maybe the bullet is staying in the bore too long (thus hitting high). Get it out quicker before the muzzle rises so much.
