I've been shooting 110 grs. BH 209 and a Barnes 250 gr. TZE out of my Accura .50 cal and have been using a CCI 209M for ignition. Which primer are you using with BH 209? Anyone using the Winchester "Blue Box" 209 with BH 209?

I've used CCIM, Fed, Win primers with Blackhorn in my Triumph. All have performed equally well. If all are available I buy CCIM Zen

With the Accura's breech plug design I would stick to a hot primer such as Fed 209A or CCI209M for igniting BH209. With my Omega's and Encore I can use regular CCI without any ignition issues.

Fed 209A primers are very dirty. CCI 209M are good ones. However I use Fiocchi #616 209 primers in my Accura with BH209 and have never had a failure yet.

Whichever ones have the least amount of blowby. If there isnt much blowby, then the fire is reaching the powder and will usually ignite it without an issue. Ive used T7 primers when they fit correctly with no issues igniting BH209. I use mostly Win209s and in a good breach plug they have fired every time.
Mag primers IMO are not needed unless the temps or weather conditions are extreme. I have 50 round range days and used nothing but WinT7s and Win209s all day in the 30-40F degree temps.
