I'm still collecting components and info to test in my 10MLII. What are your thoughts on RW ventliners compared to Lehigh's? Trying to get every variable taken care of. Also approx. how many shots through ventliners before changing out? I plan on possibly shooting up to 200 shots over the next couple of months. I have 4 different 300gr. bullets with 2 diameters. I'll also be trying 6 different sabots. 5744 is the only powder that I plan on using. I handload so I don't think the number of shots is too out of line.

I found RW's liners didn"t last any longer than stock savage's. 70 to 75 rounds of 5744 and liner is at my limit of .035. But most claim 5744 is harder on liners than other powders.

I tinkered around with several different powder and bullet combinations. And guess what the book load for 5744 and a 250 grain SST shot best in my Savage. (Guess that's why they go through the trouble of printing that, HAHA). I tweaked it down to 41grains for the best groups. I agree with Pode as far as ventliners. When you start shooting make SURE you drill out your breech when changing your liners. Drilling out your breech will probably help accuracy more than anything else. In a perfect world I try to do this about every 35 shots. IMHO. I'm trying to get a new hex breech. Any Opinions on that? Or where to look for one.

5744 is very hard on ventliners. Unless something has changed I got much longer life out of the Wakeman liners.
