Hey all with the help from you guys I took a long shot Saturday in Ohio's muzzle loader season. I am using hornady 240 xtp mag, 95 gr pyrodex, 11 cap, thompson thunder hawk 50 cal. with tasco trophy scope. Walking back to the cabin I saw white flags everywhere. Then I saw a doe looking directly at me, so I took the shot. Bam dropped her in her tracks. We lazered the distance after she was taken care of and to my surprise 127yards! Now I had my doubts about that long of a shot having enough energy but you all said it was enough and man it was plenty. The xtp entered her lower neck took out 4 ribs crossed through her spine and out the other side. All I want to say is THANKS all for giving me the confidence to take the shot. THANKS AND GOOD HUNTIN!!

Thanks Mike, after reading so much negative about the xtp I was a little worried but it performed great as far as I am concerned. Also was not to sure of the energy it would have at that distance but it looks like their was plenty. Thanks again and GOOD HUNTIN!!
