All DISC Elites have a cantilever recoil lug and a tapered barrel with no sights. The .45 DISC Extreme has a straight contour barrel that is fluted and comes with sights. I would buy the Elite as I prefer them over the Extreme as they handle better IMO. All the DISC Elites that I know of are real shooters and I have two.

then what is the difference between them and a SUPER DISC?

The Super DISC is similar to the Extreme except that it has the Original DISC Stock and uses the orange 209 primer carrier instead of the red FPJ.
There was also a running change to the twist rate in the Super DISC .45s from 1:20 to 1:30. The Serial # for the twist rate change is 005043 for Stainless and 002291 for Blued. Anything before these number is a 1:20. As you can see, there are not a lot of 1:20s out there.
I would like to get my hands on a Super DISC .45 with the 1:20 twist adding an Extreme stock, bolt assembly, and Lehigh conversion.

How can you tell what twist rate a certain rifle has.

So, how does the Extreme with a light contour barrel compare to the Elite ?? There is a few currently to be had at a reasonable price.

If you are taking about those .45s on GunBroker those are miss marked. They are Elites not Extremes.

When rec'd, the box was marked "Disc Extreme Light Contour" . The barrel is marked "Disc Elite" not "Disc Extreme". They are definitely Elites. BTW, saw more NIB .45's and a .50 Elite on Guns America too... listed the same way.
