Which barrel are you asking about? If you are asking about their muzzle loader barrels. Then i would not do it.If you are asking about converting a 45-70 barrel i would say go for it.Just my opinion.Billy

Discussion of smokeless in guns that specifically say no smokeless is discouraged here, but some time ago I looked into it, received this response from BPI- "I was wondering if you use the same stainless or alloy in your ML barrels as you do in your centerfire barrels? (specifically your bergara barrels)" "Yes, it is 416R stainless. But, just to be on the safe side, PLEASE don’t take this information and think that it would be OK to use smokeless powder." BPI/CVA is very anti-smokeless ML. I know others have tested the barrels and found this to be true. Also their BP needs mods to do so. Not making any recommendations, just draw your own conclusions

I have experience with one. Bore is on the loose side, shoots powder charges to 56 grains of 4198 and saboted 200grnrs good with heavy knurling. Pretty dang accurate. Above that and it wants to blow sabots. The rifling is deeper on the mz barrel which I think contributes for that. I forget exactly what the fps was /is. I would recommend to save a little more $ and get the pacnor / BB. It will be a lot less finicky and higher quality.
