Had good success in Illinois on two pretty good bucks and one in Ind. on a decent buck. The first one was mine, killed with my T/C Encore with a SMI 50 cal. barrel. I shoot 195 gr. Dead Center bullets with the two sabots on top of 45 grs. of 5744. The buck field dress at 247 lbs. He managed to make it about 50 yards from point of impact with a blood trail Stevie Wonder could follow. This buck was killed by my son during the third season. The buck was blind in one eye from a broadhead lodged in his eye, but still managed to see my boy before he could get a shot off. The deer broke out in a trot, which resulted in the first shot being in the gut. He went full speed then, but stop at about 150 yards. With a quick reload, the second shot went into the vitals and he made it 30 yards and expired. He was shooting a Savage ML-2 with 300 gr. SSTs in front of 5744. The bad eye and what was in it

Even with a blind eye and a hit to the gut he was still trying to make a getaway. That's tough guy there. Great looking buck.

Nice going on a pair of good looking bucks! Looks like somebody found out that Muzzy's aren't the broadheads to use if you're gonna go for eye shots though! ;D
