I am SOOOOOO glad you got it. I was checking that one out too because it appears to have all the correct parts. I mainly just wanted the stock and bolt. The trigger guard is blued instead of SS finish but the back of the bolt is SS and its jeweled. Very nice find on a low serial # MHC. Im holding out on a 45 1-20 SuperDISC to finish off my Knight collection.

I hope Santa brings me a pretty muzzleloader like that! I really like laminated thumbholes. I am anxious to see a range report of that gun smoking.........

That is a beautiful rifle almost too pretty to dirty up,enjoy it. I know that feeling. I could barely bring myself to shoot my GMB54 with a camo laminate until i got a "beater stock" and the Lehigh NFPJ system. It was my only NIB DISC at the time and a pretty rare find also. I wouldn't be able to resist the temptation of a 45cal MHC (i love shooting 45s) but i would be scared to death of hurting that stock. That is probably why Knight used to include a synth TH with MHCs. Luckily a synth TH that will fit a MHC shouldn't be too hard to find since they are based on a Extreme IIRC. Like i said, i am SOO glad he got it. I already have a Elite 45 1-30 and the gun cabinet is pretty full. If it would have been an older 1-20, i would have been all over it.

I hunt them all but never abuse them. I love the looks of a beautiful firearm. My Knight Master Hunter not only looks good but is one of the best inlines I own for accuracy. I bought mine when they first appeared on the market FS. It really doesn't see to much action anymore with the savage smokeless hitting the market. I will only part with it when I take a dirt nap. That is a purty gun there. I could see myself buyin one as well. Are there a lot of Knight Master Hunter's around? IIRC there are 2 main runs of the MHC, i think the last was called the MHC II. The one Howa got is very desirable IMO because it appears to be a earlier model with a low serial #. Some of the last ones off the line were a little hit and miss. A few of the last ones needed to be recrowned and assembly appeared a bit rushed. So there are a fair amount around but the older ones with the nice laminate and the extra synth TH stock are kinda rare in mint condition. His bolt isnt blued near the secondary safety either and its jeweled. The trigger is SS finish too but the guard is blued. Im not sure about how that figures into the year of manufacture or production numbers. The 50cal MHC that was on the same ad had the blued secondary and trigger but the trigger guard was SS finish... Both had the older style allen head bolt pin. Thats cheap to upgrade to the quick release. One thing is for sure, most of them are more desirable than regular Extremes and for sale far less often than Elites or Extremes.
