Can Black Horn 209 be measured with Lee Powder Dippers? If so, what would I need to use for 100, 120, or 150 grains? Thanks, Bern

No one scoop is big enough. However anything that will hold the powder can be used as a measure. Make yourself a custom measure. Find yourself a spent rifle case and cut the neck off. Fill it with powder till you get the exact amount you want. Cut it again so the powder fills the case. Now you have a custom powder scoop. You can even braze a handle onto it if you wanna get fancy. If all that seems like too much work go get one of the adjustable blackpowder measures. They work for me.

Guys, I weigh all my BH charges, using a digital scale just like I do with my smokeless loads for the Savage. I shoot 85 weighed for the 45 disc elite shooting the 195 barnes. Put them in the same tube as the smokeless with a different colored top so I don have a mix up

If you want a fast and reliable option, try the Redding 3-BR. BH209 meters very well with it and its fast to load up a bunch of tubes. Plus it wont put you in the poor house if you reload other centerfires too. www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=759813

bern, maybe I'm not doing it right, but I use a 3.4 cc Lee dipper for 50 grains, so 2 dippers per shot. This is using the measurement for FFG on the Lee chart, which assumes that FFG and Blackhorn are measured the same volumetrically. For hunting my 2 backup loads are pre-measured 100 gr. and in the speed loaders, so there's no measuring done while hunting. So far this shoots good in my rifle. Hope this helps. Pete

I took a bunch of 410 shells and cut to size for the charges I shoot in the different guns. Mark them with markers for volume. Cheap and plentiful. Use some 28 ga shells too. Buddy is competitive skeet shooter and has buckets of shells. 10
