Pretty decent, hard year didn't see many "shooter" deer. Lease rules needs to be a 6 or better. kept seeing the same 3 spikes off and on but did manage to connect with 3 does. Proved out my 35 short. 2 of the 3 DRT the other went 30 paces. I didn't make it to indiana this year but I wanted to see if it would perform like paper says it would. It lived up to my expectations and then some.

No complaints here. I was warm and stayed comfortable. Was stressed and depressed due to wifes health problems that has kept her hospitalized or helpless these past four months. During this time I had a mild case of pneumonia. Neither of us have been in much pain. I took two pest birds with my pellet gun and we have kept plenty of bird food outside our window. Someone had to write the dullest post on this thread and I volunteered. BTW, I have enjoyed hearing of all you hunts. Ben

I had a nice season. My Son came home from working out of state and we got to hunt together. My 2 USMC buddies both came and hunted with me too. I got 2 does and a nice 8 pt all with my 44 mag Marlin. Took the buck on a dead run, hit him twice and both were kill shots, he just did not know it. I was hunting from a ladder stand which I rarely do. First time I ever shot a running deer from a stand, it was fun. Made a skinning station with an electric winch for lifting the deer and skinning. It worked outstanding and really reduced the work load. Got a deer cart and after some welding, it was even better then the sled we had been using. Next year my goal is to figure out a way for having a deer go from the field to the freezer with no effort on my part other then shooting. I figure the best way for me to do this is run a scam on my pals, maybe feign injury or some other nefarious scheme. LOL

I took a 3 point on opening day with a 308, a button buck with my new Omega ML shooting 300 gr Hornaday HP, orange MMP, BH 209, and missed an 6 point with the same ML. I'm happy. Got a nice stew recipe

I had an outstanding deer season. Killed 6 deer, two were very nice bucks. The bucks were killed with the new PCR wildcat .358 BFG and the rest with the .50 Savage. I shot this buck the second day of gun season. He scored 146 1/2. Shot this buck two days later on a Indiana park deer reduction hunt. He is a 10 pointer. 2 great bucks in 4 days is a feat I most likely never achieve again.

Normally we get several deer me/boy/daughter/daughter-in-law/and granddaughter, but this year the weather was incredibly crappy. AND we had some other GOOD tags we had to put a lot of time in to. We ended the year with only 4 deer two monster bucks and two does. BUT we also got a ewe sheep ( took 3 weeks to get ) and a HUGE 6 point Elk and it took a lot of time too. We where able to do some good water foul hunting this year.
