I have settled on putting a Sightron Series II 3 X 9 X 42 on my 10ML. My question is has anyone used the HHR model reticle or is it a waste of the extra $20.

I don't have one of the Sightron scopes with that retical but I do have a Burris with the ballistic plex rectical. I think it's worth the $20. I zero mine in at 100 yds then find out what yardage the second crosshair is and so on. If you don't use it no big deal because the different hashes don't interfere with anything. It's an option you can choose to use or not use but you can't add it later. To me spend the $20.

I recently purchased a Big Sky with the HHR. I don't like using it on the bench because of the dot but I think it will be a good hunting reticle. The dot covers some of the target when shooting from a bench. I have not hunted with it yet due to having some problems with the gun it is mounted on but I really like the scope and the rebate that comes with it.

I ordered a Sightron SII 3-9 x 42 HHR from SWFA and mounted it on my ML10-II tonight. I plan on sighting it in this weekend, as ML season opens the following weekend. I've been wanting a better hunting reticle for quite awhile and I expect the HHR will more than meet my requirements. The long eye relief is a big plus for me also. My ML is fitted with an EGW HD one piece mount and a set of Burris rings.

That is the exact scope I had my wife order yesterday. (She works at a gun shop) So I get a good deal. Also got a set of Warne bases and the Quick Detach Rings.

www.swfa.com has this scope listed at $379.00 with a $75 dollar mail in rebate. The scope with the regular plex reticle is $319, plus you get the rebate. This is probably the best buy in scope-land right now.

Barrycuda................Just employ a target with a larger aiming point so you can center it. I have done this for a couple of 6X benchrest scopes (hunter class). As you said, for hunting, its not a problem. Richard

That price must be the Big Sky model, I got the series II I will have about 225 in it with the Warne Bases and QR Rings after the $50 rebate which is what the series II has instead of $75
