Thanks guys for all the help. I have replaced Pete's plug with the Savage plug and new RW vent and have taken the action out of the bedded stock and put it in an unbedded laminate stock. I have checked the bases and the is no contact with the recoil lug. As soon as the wind calms down I will try again with these changes. I did try an orange MMP and it was almost impossible to load. The .452 bullets load much easier but have not shot any. I wanted a barrel to shoot .458s not .451/.452s. I will keep you posted on the results. Thanks again.

Barry, You still have the option of the MMP 12 or 24. I forget which one is thinner. Someone who still uses MMPs will chime in.Send your address and I have some E-Z Load High Pressure Sabots from Harvester you can try as well.
