Thanks to the generously of Tar 12, I was able to test th1 195 for penetration, it scored an outstanding 6 7/8 inches, as compared to the 200gr SST, a t 4/1/2" I could get use to shooting a light recoiling round. No wonder it is an excellent Deer bullet Fired round weighted 174.3

If a 195B will not kill what's in the woods where I am, I don't want to be in those woods. A 195g copper bullet with a MV of 2600-3000'/sec should be adequate for nearly everything we could encounter. It's likely the best overall bullet we have for 40 and 45 cal MLers.

That is outstanding! How does that compare to the 290s you are shooting? While I have only killed 8 deer so far with this bullet, penetration has not been a issue from point blank to 307 yards and that is including double shoulder hits. All have been complete pass throughs with very adequate drain holes! ;D Our muzzy season fires up today and we will get back at the hair testing as soon as "Q" gets done with his tournament today.I am always torn this time of year between wrestling and hunting! ;D In case your wondering the wrestling receives priority! ;D

:)Thanks Marty and Rick for the test. I've been using these bullets for along time and imo there is no better for our .45's The accuracy and terminal performance is everything I need from a bullet.

I shot my first deer with a Barnes 195 today . I was truly impressed. The buck was 150yds broadside, 62gn H4198. The Barnes shot through both front shoulders and kept going. DRT. Like I said in the other post...These are deadly going at 2700fps. Zen
