I have a Knight LRH and I use the fpj. I tried BH209 using CCI 209 primers. Had a bunch of hang fires so I switched to CCI 209 Mag primers. Shot 4 times in a row no problem. The fifth shot I had another hang fire. I might add this is with a new breech plug. I heard that T. Bridges said the flash hole needs to be between .032 and .035 for BH209. I checked mine and it was .030, so I drilled it out to .035. Well my hang fires went away but the blow back mess in the bolt area is unbelieveable. It took me 2 hrs of cleaning to get this stuff out of there. Hoppies#9 wouldn't cut it. So my question is does knight have a issue with blow back using the FPJ.? It appears to leak very bad an cause a big mess. I heard they have a breech plug that helps prevent blow back. Has anyone else had this problem using 209 in there knight rifles?

Thanks, I saw that on there site but it says it might not fit the LRH and the master hunter so I didn't try it. I sent dave@lehighbullets.com a question about that and he hasn't responded yet. Did this breech plug design reduce the blow back you get when using the red FPJ disk?

Dave probably cant guaranty it will fit without minor fitting but ive gotten 4 and i have a LRH and the GMB54. They work great in both. Its a NON FPJ plug. You wont need the red jackets afterward. The breach is nearly spotless even after a long range session...it wont let me post this one for some reason. i39.photobucket.com/albums/e151/DewdVTX/ML%20BreachPlug%20Conversions/Lehigh%20NFPJ/Extreme%2050%20and%20Lehigh%20NFPJ/Breach3.jpgThis is from my GMB54 with 120gr and several 300-385gr bullets. If this wont cause blowby....Even WinT7s ignite BH209 just fine in mine. These are from my Extreme 50. I tell you what. you get one and try it...if its not far cleaner and 100% igniting BH209, then i will buy it off of you....Thats how sure i am.

Thanks gmb for the info. Just got done talking to Knight Rifles and he told me the same thing you did. He has shot his gun over 300 times using BH209 and could clean out the bolt area with a Q-tip. I'm going to order one right away. He also told me there working with Lehigh on some very impressive bullets for next year. Its called the Bloodline. He said they are getting a 2" group at 200 yards. They look like the Barnes mz expanders but these are machined instead of poured. He said they are more accurate and have the same knock down power. Can't wait to try them.

Lehigh bullets called me at my house last night to make sure I was taken care of an understood there Breech plug design for the Knight Rilfes. Gents I must say these people are good people and care about customer service. Service like that is hard to come by these days. Lehigh and Knight are top notch companies.

You will be amazed at the quality of his machine work too. They look better than OEM NFPJs and are made from better steel. Knight uses quality stuff so.......
The conversion is super easy 99% of the time. Just remove the bolt and breach plug. Insert the adapter into the bolt. Put the vent liner in the new breach plug and reinstall everything.
They are super clean with any Win primer and cleaner than most guns with the other primers. Test fire a couple and find which one is clean enough for your tastes.
The one in my custom LRH is really clean with at least 4 brands and i get a true crush fit with both Win primers. After a little practice you will find that the primers load at least as easy as they do in a Savage and they just fall out after firing.
I was around during the testing stages and i got a GenI plug. Dave wasnt totally happy with the GenI plug and returned everyones money, plus gave us all a GenII plug free.
Great guy and a great company. Just remember this is his side work so sometimes he is busy but he has always returned my calls or emails.

GMB, you mention your custom LRH. Could you share with me what all you have done with your rifle and the results? This kind of Knowledge is priceless.

GMB, you mention your custom LRH. Could you share with me what all you have done with your rifle and the results? This kind of Knowledge is priceless. I bought a 52cal LRH barreled action and the Knight target trigger from Knight. I put it all in a Elite stock with some other DISC parts i have. Plus a Lehigh NFPJ of course. Its roughly 1.5lbs lighter than a normal LRH. Another member actually did it first, so i had to try it since im a big Knight fan and i wanted a 52cal for my Knight collection. Knight now sells the 52cal sabots separately and that was the only reason i never tried one before. Its ready to shoot now but currently it just has a cheap 4 power scope. I will give a full review when i get a new RedField scope for it.

Since i just got it a week or so before deer season i havent worked up any. I got it mainly because i wanted a faster twist Knight. There are only 2 52cal sabots. 52x458 and 52x475 from Knight made by MMP. Luckily i have a good supply of bullets in both calibers. Right now my favorite ,458 bullet it the 300gr Barnes SOCOM. These are deadly and designed for the 1800-2000fps range. I shoot them in 54x45 Harvester sabot with a max load in my 54cal. Im betting they will be an awesome bullet in the 52cal and i have a bunch ready to test. Both the sabots are really "beefy" and are made for heavy loads. Another good 458 is the 325gr FTX. The fast twist should shoot these very well with a heavy dose of BH209. I will be STARTING at 110gr and see how far my shoulder and accuracy hold out. I get these for about half of what Cabelas gets for them. In 475 i have the 325gr XTP, 275gr DeepCurl and will probably try some in the 350gr-400gr range. Recoil cant be any worse tham my GMB54 shooting a 54x50-385gr and 120gr of BH209. ;D

A light 458 with a little length should do very well for anything i hunt. I still have some of the 458-275gr samples but forgot to mention them. What i really want to try at the range are his 458 match bullets but i dont feel like buying 100 to shoot them at paper. Maybe if the price of coyote pelts goes up. I bet those 458-220s could really get moving out of a LRH or any of the 52cal Knights. I will give him a call or email soon and get some more sabots from Knight.

GMB, Dave at Lehigh is a good dude I'm sure he would sell you a sample pack. Im going to try a couple bullets when the weather warms back up. Barnes Spit-Fire T-EZ FB .451 250gr & Lehigh .452 250gr DOA HP MZ I've heard good things about these two bullets. Today I shoot the Barnes MZ expanders 250gr with T7 powder. Can't wait to try BH209 with the new breech plug design from lehigh.
Happy Holidays and keep me posted on your results at the range.
