I ordered a Laminate stock this morning from Savage to replace the tupperware stock that came with the gun. I also ordered the two action screws as they are needed for the conversion. The customer service rep indicated that I may also need a new trigger guard for this conversion. I had never heard of this being needed. Have any of you folks needed this for the switch?

Laminated stocks have stainless steel trigger guards, Tuperwares are both stainless and plastic depending on what barrel you have. Im not sure why they told you that. Mike

I would get the SS trigger guard as the plastic ones are too cheezy! If you tighten that front screw too much it splits the plastic. Because the plastic "gives?" , you can easily over tighten it and bind the bolt also. I think its worth the $$$. Richard
