Yes I did...the old orange disc version
Took 2 shots to get close and went for a group at 100 yds with 90 gr weighed BH209 (1st time ever shooting this powder) and 325 FTX and black CR.
3 shots in under an inch. We have a guy who is using an open sighted Ithaca Deer Slayer 12 ga and we were wanting him to join the new generation. My old gun was available.
I almost wanted to use it tonight instead of my Savage!
3 guys are using BH 209 and inlines and it is excellent in terms of consistent speeds and accuracy. It looks and smells like smpkeless powder.
From chrono readings, 300 gr bullets are going about as fast as Savage book loads.
I've been doing the ML stuff a long time but never tried this stuff...and haven't dabbled much with my "old" in lines in a long time since getting the Savage.

What an interesting report, and great shooting. I will be trying BH209 in an Omega soon, and can't wait to see what it'll do.

I use nothing but BH209 in all my 209 primer guns.
It does have a little bit different learning curve. You must keep the breach plug channel and hole cleaned out. Hard carbon will build up fast in some breach plugs and mag primers make it even worse.
I usually clean out mine every 10-20 shots for best accuracy with a drill bit and a torch pic set. Just turn the proper sized drill bit by hand in the channel. Use the torch pic cleaner on the flash hole.
BH209 also prefers a good snug sabot and a good primer fit for the most reliable ignition.
And DONT swab at all. Ive shot over 50 times at the range several times with zero cleaning. Groups tighten up after 3-5 shots depending on sabot fit. If you must swab use a dry patch.

I also have an orange DISC Knight and use BH209. Mostly I use it for the kids to shoot with light loads and either a 200 Shockwave or a 250 XTP. Both shoot about 1 inch at 100 and more than enough killing power and light kick for the younguns. I save the heavier loads for the Savage.

Tas, how much powder are you using for the kids loads? I'm taking my son this weekend to try the BH209 in a 45 cal. knight disc.
Thanks John

I got 1600 fps out of a 50cal disc extreme using 60 gr BH209 under a 40 cal TC Shockwave with very little recoil.

My Elite 45 shoots the 180gr XTP or GoldDot very well with 80-90gr and recoil is pretty mild for a young teenager. A 200gr XTP and a little less powder isnt bad either.
Both expand pretty well in that velocity range. Using light loads T7 FFG actually gives a tiny bit better fps if you dont have any BH209 handy.
