Very nice shooting, is that what they mean when they "Say got low and go" I have the Barnes 195's and blue sabots, had them for several years, I think its time to try them out, It will be a nice change from shooting my .50, with the Barnes 400gr. bullet, thats getting old....so am I. You will enjoy the mild recoil Marty compared to the heavy hitters.I see no reason why this bullet would not take a Moose out at speed....

Me either....
What could a moose do about it. I mean a big hole (.45 at minimum) through his bread basket.
Bullets in this league at this speed rule this ML game if they shoot well. Kinda like the difference between shooting a .243 with 70 gr NBTs at speed compared to an 85gr Barnes TSX at speed. Which would you use on big game?

Tar and Wils, You are both right, except if you hit a large bone like like the shoulder, I had a TC Bonded 300 gr. bullet blow apart on a shoulder hit, I mean into tiny flakes, and remember your hunting with a one shot rifle, The rib's on a Alaskan Moose are 2 inches wide and heavy, but on a clear heart lung shot, you will have a trophy The only time I saw a Moose go right down at the shot was a spine hit with a 300 Ultra Mag, the gent was shooting for the boiler room, but his shot went high. Most times after the shot the Moose showing no sign of being hit, walks away slowly, and just lays down and die's. What wonderful Animals there are I plan to take my .50 next year , I'll bring 350gr Barnes X , and the 400gr Barnes Buster Bullets, Big Medicine for big animals, both should pass though any beast in North America. No problem lossing game up there, lots to flat ground. The ridge we glass from you can see out several miles.

Marty put the 195 Barnes to your penetration test. I would like to know the results compared to its heavier brother.

Tar, Congratulations on a great hunting season. Sounds like plenty of college scholarship offers heading your boy's way. I love to see good kids succeed!
The major feature I like about the Nikon Omega scope, is the 5" eye relief. I've had more than one scope thump when shooting prone, or from odd emergency positions. Had a set of glasses broken once. Boarhog

Will do, I think Rick said 58gr of H4198, does that sound right. Most everyone is shooting 60-63 grn of the H-4198 with the 195 BX and blue Harvester in the .45

Tar, Thanks I'll buy some, if the Bass pro has them.
Photobucket has changed, and being a dummy I can't figure it out.
The SST penetrated 4 1/2, I only recovered the jacket 65.5grs, not for large animals IMHO
