That is a beauty What loads are you going to start with? Make sure you mark your ramrod small caliber sabotless rifles are not forgiving with double loads edge.

Why two wonder wads? Looks great, I like it better without the brake......but I dont own it I don't know why 2 ww are listed with this load under the .40 cal load tables. Someone has tested it before me and I'm sure there's a good reason but can't tell you what it is. BTW I think it looks better with the brake . I don't think I'll hunt with it but I will shoot with it on at the range. I'm curious if there will be a point of impact difference with and without the brake.

Very nice. I have a Sav RB .40 with the PacNor barrel. They will shoot well. I have only used one woolen wad with good results but I think sw has had luck with two. Heed edge's advice. I have a .38, even a small extra amount of powder can create significant problems. There are .40 loads listed on this site, I would start at the lower/mid point and gradually work up.

Nice project! How much does that puppy weigh? I was curious myself so I just jumped on the bathroom scales with rifle as seen in pics in hand and then back on scales without rifle. 12 lb difference. If this thing don't shoot real good then I guess I can put it in the boat as an attractive anchor . Thanks for the compliments guys Shivesy

FWIW, I was using a single 45cal lubed wool wad in my 40 then switched to a .060 veggie from Walters Wads, velocity went up and average of 65fps with no change in accuracy. This was with a straight up load of Benchmark and a resized 41cal 210gr XTP. This 40cal Walters wad looks and feels more like a fine cork, diffently a different material from the 45cal veggies I typically get from Circle Fly. Not sure if all of his wads are the same material, I'll see if I can hunt down some in 45cal ones to compare to these Circle Flys.

Awesome. Beautiful rifle.
Funny thing was last week I was thinking I wanted to build something just like this. I posted about it on the Weatherby forum and was directed to this forum. I like this place!! My next project has been defined and now I have data to support it. Awesome.

Chivesy. I seriously thought about a brake but it can make you unpopular at the range. Let me know how it works out for you? Jon
