I went out to the range with my son today to dial in my pacnor setup. I shot two 3 shot groups with 62gr of H4198 20grsst and harvester smooth blue sabot. 2 groups were100yds and a good inch...Pretty happy with those...Moved out to 200 yds... A 1 and 3/4 group...... I was so happy i was a dancin..WOOHOOOOO.... Then i shot another...!!! 4 onces high and 2 inches to the left..shot another and it wasn't even on paper... no more WOOOHOOO!! went back to 100...reshot right back where it was. ? The only thing I could think of I done deferent was when I cleaned between shots(Richards method) those 2 times i used kind of a scrubbing back and forth action.... Went back to one dounand back flip the patch and do it again then again with a dry patch...Shot another group at 100... Another 1 inch group... Then back out to 200.... Another inch and 3/4 group.... This is the only thing i done different. Also sometimes when I shoot I get flame out the end of the barrel and sometimes not. But i don't see any accuracy change at that time..... Left on a good group.. Then I went to take a couple decoys out to my shooting shack.. And got sick. They are spreading anhydrous today and tomorrow am. A day and a half before opening day... on 3 sides of my shack. How bad am I screwed? Thanks for putting up with my rambling... Drop

The field across the road from us got the anhydrous treatment late last week (don't recall for sure but seems like Thursday). Monday morning, my wife saw a huge buck in that field.

My guess is, that your barrel had gotten too warm when your groups tanked. Then had a chance to cool by the time you moved back to 100 yds. As for the cleaning, several on this board report better accuracy when shooting "Dirty". I need to do some serious comparison testing myself. So far, I clean a la Richard between shots. I'm afraid I can't help you about the anhydrous ammonia spraying. It is possible that Mr. Big won't realize the crop has been sprayed before you have a chance to center him in your cross hairs!? Dans's .45 PacNor gun shoots great with 60 grains of H4198 and 195 Barnes. Maybe the gun is trying to tell you the load is on the edge with 62 grains? Might try and back it down a couple grains and see how it does. Mike

Like dannoboone said, I think the AA should be a non-issue for you. Deer are running around crazy this time of year.

I dont think it got warm. I used a cooling rod between shot's. The only thing that I remember was the scrubbibg action those 2 time's. But I know it is on the upper end of the load. I just went out and measured the groups all the 100 yds were under an inch closer to .75 and 1 200 was an even 2.0 and the other (last one) was 1.33" All seemed stable when I called it quits I shot 1 at 50yds just to see...it was 5inches high and 3 to the left...UHOH!!! Then I held it down like I do when it is in the sled...pretty tightly..then the shot was 1inch high and dead center at 50. I am very happy with this.... But the anhydrius sure has me worried..... But cant control that.Drop

Hey you can't worry about the farming. Just get out there and hunt. I have shot some pretty nice deer while the farmer was farming.
