Little help please. Shooting 43gr. 4759 with this bullet. My shooting range is 175yds. Sighted in O at 100yds. and is about 2 inches low at 175. What do you think the drop would be at 300 in order to set up range finder? Thanks Bob.

Bob, only way to know for sure is to shoot it but since that's apparently not possible I tried to plug some guesstimates into a ballistic calculator. Guessing the load at 2200 fps and zeroed at 100 yards, I had to bump the BC way up to were it can't be right and still wasn't able to come close to a 2" drop at 175 yards, more like 4". No idea what's going on.

Did you fire a full, good group to get that 2" drop? That sounds too little. An inch of error in measuring the 175yd drop could have a big impact on your 300yd drop...enough to matter.
Even driving the 200SW to 2770 fps I have around 3" of drop at that range.

Sorry It was 44gr. not 43 and it started to pour so never went to target just scoped it. Fired 3 shots, first was about 4-5 inches low , next two seemed to be around 2-3 inches. I understand this was not prof positive and will never shoot at a longer distance without being some what positive. Just hoping one of you may have shot something close to this load at 300.
