Not talking about the new guns but an accessory.... I, and several other folks, have been product testing a new range rod for several months now, and it is finally coming to the market place. It should be available from the Knight web site shortly... But let me tell you about it... because IMO it really is not just a good one it is a great one. Grouse began the process of developing this rod and took his idea to Lehigh... from there Dave improved on the first thoughts and he ran out a few test rods. Then folks testing the rod provided a formal feedback process to his company and additional changes were made. I am proud to say one of my thoughts was used on the final product. Tom's orignal thoughts have brought about an excellent product the ML community. Dave added some space age technology in the way the ball bearing handle works and the final design of the Charge Height Indicator... OK - the DISCLAIMER as Semi already knows I am not a writer nor a photographer - I am just user from north Idaho... so as you got through this information if you choose to read it - you may have to fill in some words, correct some spelling, and add in the missing thoughts. But I really am excited to show you this new product available from Knight.... Here is a picture of the basic rod and the associated parts.... These next pictures I hope will explain the rod and it's functions. Before you ask I am not sure what the retail price is going to be... that will be the next part of the mystery

Pretty sure I saw the exact same one in the new Max Muzzleloading CVA video & it was from Blackhorn 209 or whatever they call their sister company.

Sabotloader. Great post and well done. Is the rod adaptable to 45 and 50 cal.? As soon as they hit the market I will be interested acording to price. I only shoot smokeless but I don't think thr rod will know the differance. Jon

Jon
Works equally well on either 45 or 50...
I am hoping the price is reasonable also - it should be but I guess only Knight knows for sure...

These Rods have been being tested for sometime now. Atleast four or five members of this board and some friends. There also were some rods sent to a company and they sent them out to there own product testers to test out as well. So probably 15 or 20 of them went to people i or Lehigh doesn't even know.
The Rod is by far the best Rod i ever used or have seen. Alot of safety features are on this rod and it's built second to none. I'm sure most people will agree when they get there own.

i have the prototype, not sure of all the changes on the finish model.
its a good solid rod without any cheap flex feel to it.
Using the prototype in this video, I especially like the muzzle protector.

Gotta say I am a bit disappointed in the price myself. The rod is well worth that price in the long run, and it will pay for it self over the years.
But, i was really hoping they would offer and introductory price to get the first batch of them out into the real world.
Guess that is why I am not in the business world... I would want to sell a 100 of them not just 25... well you know what I mean...

I have a brass rod * 2 or 3 piece* and theres a lot of "uh oh'ing" when pushing down a stiff loading projectile. And by that i mean, constant bending. The One piece rod doesnt bend at all for me and makes loading pretty darn easy. The added weight also helps greatly.

I have a stainless steel rod I have used to 20 yrs, Why is no one using stainless? Rusty The new Knight rod is a high grade stainless. On their sight they show a rod for each caliber - all you need is one rod and switch jags....
