In the middle of ML season I am having Accutriger problems and need help. When cocking the gun (sometimes) the sear is bypassing the notch and blocking the AccuRelease. This problem is illustrated on page 11 of the Savage manual as what happens when the gun is jarred or dropped. I have thoroughly cleaned this area with Gun Scrubber and a brush but still happening. Can I file the sear to make it stop at the notch or will that affect the trigger pull? I have called Joe @ Savage but he has not returned my call. Thanks.

Adjust the trigger pressure up a little more and see if it still happens. Mike

I had the same problem when I adjusted the accutrigger to light. Adjust the trigger a little stronger and I think the problem will be gone.

I have to agree with the others, it sounds like your not getting enough trigger spring pressure to get a good reset on the sear.

If you're worried, after you close the bolt, that everything may not be properly engaged, slide the safety to full "on". If it'll go there, you are okay.
