I have a chance to get e Remington 700 ML to convert to smokelsss. Is there any advantage to the Remington ML platform vs a 700 centerfire? Second would i be any better off to just put Pacnor barrel on my ML10?
What is involved in Remington ML conversion?

:)nc you will need a hunter bolt kit, savage bp,and the barrel. If you are handy you can headspace it yourself and your done. If you convert your savage you need just the barrel and tools to headspace. The 700 centerpiece requires ,pa bp, barrel, and cases. They all have there advantages so its more pocketbook and preference. Goodluck

Dave, typically rebarreling a R700 action requires a lathe to cut the shoulder and establish headspace (ie not as DIY friendly). Is it somehow easier when installing a pacnor to convert to smokeless?

The shoulder and breech plug are already preset by PACNOR, Casey has all the measurements he need to get it close enough to finish the headspacing on the breech plug nipple.

This is the filing down of the breech plug snout I have read about. I got it now. Thanks.
