If you are happy with the factory parts, which it sounds like you are, then Savage is the way to go for spares.

Is there an online site for buying Savage breech plugs? Or, do we have to call Savage in person?

Here's a link:http://randywakeman.com/savage0.htm Also, you can call Pete at Pete's Machine shop--(610) 923-9234. Pete makes a S/S breechplug that has bushings instead of ventliners. They are well made & Pete is a great guy.

I have always called them and told them exactly what I wanted. Make sure you specify hex head breech plugs and Ml-II ventliners.

I ordered a breech plug from Savage this morning. The man on the other end told me the only ones they had now were the 3/8ths Hex Head models. $28.00 + shipping. Zen
