Could someone please explain headspacing! Why is it important and how do you check it? Also I have read on here to change out your recoil lug. Why is that important? That is the notched material behind the barrel? Thanks

Follow SWs advice on this.It is really very easy to do. I have done 3 to date following his tutorial and it is a very simple process. Much easier than I had anticipated. One thing of note SW.I took some wite-out and marked the length of a primer and allowed it to dry and cycled the primer to check the seated depth of the primer. With out fail it had seated 2/3 of the way in each and every time. This is a very easy way to check your primer depth.

The factory recoil lug is the stamped piece between your action and the barrel nut that has some flaws. Folks like Fred Moreo at Sharp Shooters make a machined lug that is perfectly flat. Its merit has been well debated (right Richard?) but not proven. Either one will do nothing unless you bed your action in the stock.

You are correct on the slightly loose primer pocket. I discovered that through trial and error. I will try the laundry marker next time as the white out leaves a little residue in the primer pocket.I used what I had a the time... ;D
