I plan to hunt with Harley's 12/47 load this season. How are you duplex guys carrying your loads in the field?
Thanks, Barry

Two vials different color tops for booster and main load then tape the bottom of two different vials together for a complete load.

.223 case/ .300 mag case epoxied back to back with little roll down condom looking things called nozzle caps to keep the powder in place. ready made funnels and easy to identify which powder goes first....Bill

I have a .45 & .50. For one I use powder vials taped together, for the other I use 7mm Mag cases with tire valve stem caps as stoppers taped together. Prefer the 7 Mag cases for the funnel effect that Bill mentioned.

I use a short vial loading the main powder first then the booster on top.. Then I insert a packing peanut from a batch that I got from a Natchez delivery and cap it off. The peanut keeps the powder from moving from within the vial and will not stick to the powder. There will be minimal mixing of the two powders during loading if you pour carefully. This way I don't have to carry two vials and am getting consistent velocity using this method.

I use the Butler Creek preload tubes that have 2 separate containers on each end of a preload. The smaller end was designed for the bullet and the other was for the powder. I use the smaller for the primer and larger, of course, for the main charge. I have a big #1 on the primer end and nothing on the other as I can actually figure out that I need to use it next. The bullet,WW,and 2 209 primers are in the other preload as well as a ever so slightly somvent moistened patch for wiping the bore if desired.

Sounds like if needed the second shot, would be too slow. For reloads I have bullets and primers in my left pocket, powder in the right, A month before my trip i practice reloading and firing, for hours and hours..My guide always says, by the time I reload he could eat his lunch.

No need for any second shot unless you want to put a second deer down Doug
