Search for posts from Chuck41. Off the top of my head, I think he did, just can't push them as fast as other larger diameter combos.

I shot that sabot when I had my savage. I was shooting a 350 grain white powerstar with 75 grains of AA2015. It was pushing it around 2200 fps. The recoil was a little stiff but it would shoot <3/4" if I done my part. Smacked a doe that was bedded down at 187 yards and she just layed her head down. Keep us updated if you do decide to use the barnes as I would like to see how well it shoots. Heres the link to my thread dougsmessageboards.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=smokeless&thread=3524&page=1

Many have tried the bullet and sabot combo, will not shoot at smokeless speeds, shoots good at BH209, but not with any kind of speed with smokeless powder

Was very accurate for me in the 50, in fact it was one of my most accurate loads, but that has been a while now. Other folks have indicated poor accuracy and sabot failures with heavier loads.

Ive been wanting to try them in my Savage too but not the Harvesters. Ive blown too many of those just using BH209. MMP 50x40s have given me the best results so far at those speeds in other MLs.
Getting just 100-200fps more than BH209 can deliver with heavier 40s would be fine.
