Cleaned it good last night after 30 shots. This Am was 60 degrees, no wind. Still shooting 195 gr Barnes MZ FB. over 54 grs of H 4198 and the harv CR and smooth sabot and win primers.I wanted to see it she likes clean or fouled. First 6 shots was about a 3" group swabbing with damp alcohol patch fallowed by One dry patch. I then shot 12 more times without swabbing into 4 different targets and still getting sub MOA ;D. The only thing I do do understand is the change in POI. All shots printed half inch left and an inch and a half low. Any ideas? Rusty

Sounds like god shooting.
1) Are you keeping your scope level? 2) Did you disassemble to clean? 3) Was your shooting technique the same? 4) Was your rest setup the same?
Just some thoughts. It might be something totally different.

The only thing I can figure is I had over 30 shots and never swabbed Yesterday. Today I shot 6 times after a good cleaning and swabbed with alcohol and then a dry patch after ea shot.the next 12 shots were shot without swabbing. Maybe my barrel needs more fouling shots to get POI back after cleaning??? Thank you for taking the time to respond, Rusty

deadon,i see the same thing on poi shifts. its what i call getting the barrel into the "groove". documention required time after time to record & learn what each & every barrel wants to achieve a string of shots in succession before a flier & or mis-performance on group size etc. many more things factor into this in mz than cf/allthough i see it in cf matchgrade barrels also, its not your imagination!

Rusty...............Is that statement meant to indicate that you are NOT satisfied? Kind of what it sounded like to me? If you are getting sub MOA, I don't think you should be disappointed? That is very good! Richard

I am verrrrrrrrrry happy. I know I have a problem and I should not burden others with MY problem. I just did not understand why from one day to the next, the POI would change when I felt like everything else was the same. Sorry, I know I can be a pain . My username has been a 57 yr goal and I drive ALLLLL my friends NUTS. Thanks for caring, Rusty

You just reminded me of one of my favorite sayings. "Beware of the man with one rifle" I only have around 40 shots thru this great Barrel and action. What the H@#$ should I expect. Richard said it politely in his response ;)Thank you both Sir, I needed that ;D Rusty

deadon, never mind the beware of 1 rifle,my comments are from experimenting or a so-called set-up person (load developing)from documented every shot over a approx span of 15 years involving over 600 gun barrels.some similiar but no 2 exactly the same just like us!
