Any body used the precision dead center 240 gr. 40 cal tipped bullets in their 45 cal.? I was wondering how they shoot and how they perform on deer size game at 24-2500 f.p.s..

Fred those are tough to get up to speed.I've tried in my gun but could not get them to perform like I like.bp velocity they should work great .

I used them at one time, they told me not to shoot them any faster than 2250 fps(the guys at precision)...but they did shoot well..

They don't fit tight enough on a Remington .45 to shoot well. The pure lead obturates too much under the violent launch from smokeless loads and from BP sub loads if shot over 2100 fps.

Another problem you run into with softer lead bullets is they may be tight when loaded but it seems after a few hours the lead "flows" and they become loose.
