Has anyone tried GoldDots/DeepCurls or other quality plated bullets sabotless in either 45s or 50s?
Some of Speers new rifle bullets are plated so i was curious about the results sabotless. The GoldDot 300gr for 50A&E and Rainier 50-335gr hp is used by Alexandria Arms in their 50 Beowulf ammo so they will handle at least 1800fps.
Both have been good performers on media and targets for me in my GMB54-120 with 54x50 sabots so i was curious.

Excellent question. I have been a bit shy about trying that in my 40. Did try some with very light loads but afraid to risk it at the normal level for fear of striping lead off.

When I asked Speer about the 250gr gold dot at 2300 fps, they thought it would hold together, but over expand. They recommended their 300gr .458 rifle bullets to better match the higher speeds.
