I did heard a lot about improved accuracy,using a sub-base wad,
is it rue it could be improved up 30 to 40% ?
or is it just another '' gadget' ?
And if needed, with what type of bullet it will be really efficient.
this season ill be using 45 gr of sr-4759 and 300 grain dead center (44x50),can it be of any help ?
thanks

While it may have held some validity a few years ago, with the new and improved components, it is not necessary. I have not heard of anyone using sub-bases anymore Richard

8-)The sub-base was not created to improve accuracy. It was an attempt to gain speed because the powder for speeds choice in times past was Lil' Gun. It made lots of pressure and sabots failed. Adding the sub-base was the only way to have any accuracy. So even though it helped accuracy in a sense it was really helping sabots survive higher pressures.
All loads should be able to shoot bare sabot without needing a sub-base. If the sabot cannot survive without a sub-base then (IMO) the pressure should be considered too high.
When used in a load of normal pressure, they may or may not help accuracy. If they do then I don't see the need to discourage their use, so go for it. However it is likely that a load of proper pressure without a sub-base will be as, or nearly as, accurate as one developed with a sub-base.
