I took my 10ML out a week ago Sat. The first time I had to shoot it since last year. First round at 100 yards was low left then printed a nice 1 3/4 group 3 in. high dead center side to side. I've been lucky I guess. I use a fat wrench and set it at 25 in lb every time I take the bolt out. I hunted last week end and shot a few times to be sure poa and poi were the same. I take mine apart and clean the BP and barrel every 10 shots. Then fire two primers before loading. I like to fire that round off before hunting but I didn't have time today.
I sat an watched some deer that were to far away, then during the last 1/2 hour of season I started slowly walking to the truck. I found three does. Shot the first at 25 to 35 yards thou the shoulder with no exit. Must have exploded, everything inside was turned to mush. It turned out there were several deer in the area. I carefully reloaded this time taking time to insure that the ramrod was in fact returned to it's home under the barrel. Didn't want to make the same facial altering mistake I made two years ago. The second doe ran about 200 yards and turned broadside. I had a corner post for a rest and let fly. Dead center behind the shoulder smashing the shoulder on the other side and everything in between. The bullet did exit but by the appearance of the hole it was pretty well spent. DRT front legs buckled and her head bounced when she hit the ground.
Stainless synthetic stock that I painted. Put a 1.5 trigger spring in last year. 42 gr VV N110 300 gr Remington Harvester BCR Winchester primer. 2175 FPS 3 in high @ 100 Dead on 175 -3.3 @ 200. Love this gun, I know some of you are still laughing at me for filling the stock with #8 shot to control recoil. But it's great watching the bullet strike throu the scope. ;D Just thought I'd share todays hunt with everybody but also show the new guys you can have a lot of fun with a stock gun.
