When at the range temp was low so cooling rod was doing a good job with out ice. Q, rod was dry when inserted but was damp on removal? Am I doing something to cause this or is this normal? Rick

thai is normal. when you have warm and colds to gether you get condensation. most will dry swab the barrel before loading. remember even thought the outside of the barrel is cool or warm the insidde is even hotter. so there will be a greater temp difference.

If I want to keep my barrel fouled, I will pop a cap after removing cooling rod to make sure it is dry. Rusty
