Considering a Sightron Big Sky 3-12x42 HHR (non A0) for my .50 Pac Nor. I like the range and size of the scope. With the rebate offer I can purchase the scope for around $450.00. Are any of you guys familiar with this scope and have they handled the recoil? Thanks, Barry.

I've got a 3-10x42 S-II that I bought used for my 45 PCNR last fall. Haven't put a ton of shots down range with it, but so far it is holding.
I bought a used SII 6-24x44 off of ebay a couple of years ago. Scope was beat up very badly (literally had dents and dings) and eventually started to leak moisture. Called Sightron. They said send it back. When they got it, I got an e-mail nearly the same day that they received saying they didn't have that exact model and would a comparable SII Big Sky be ok? I didn't really have that much need for a 6-24 at the time, so I asked if I could get a 4-14x44 Big Sky SII instead? No problem was the response. Total time between when I shipped the old one out and got the replacement back was like a week and a half.

I've got a 3x9x42 SII. Love it. Bright clear and strong. Around 300 MLII shots with it and no problems. Buddy had a SI stop adjusting Sightron said bring it to a dealer and have them swap it out and send them the old one. He walked in with a broken scope and walked out with a new one. Easy peazy. Don't know if it would go down like that any more but it is a good company.

I know that DW has one and has had to send it back for repair. I think the Big Sky optics is almost on par with Zeiss Conquest but I also have some old and very weak eyesight.

You can not go wrong with a Sightron, at least SII or SIII. The warranty has changed from the "over the counter" exchange in the past unless you beat up on Sightron CS (I have been told they will call a dealer under emergency situations).
BUT!! The close-out sale price from Natchez plus rebate on the Nitrex TR2s with the EBX reticle is just as good if not better of a scope with side focus for half the price right now. Chris at SWFA has said he was told by Federal/ATK that Nitrex will be staying around. We will have to wait till the SHOT show to see the new model line up between them and Weaver as they get their strategy ironed out.
