I had a good morning at the range today. Took my 3 ML 700 and the end result is that they all shoot better than me. The reason I want to say thanks is because of the constant reminders that get put in to various threads to be careful. I think even if the lastest reminder hadn't been said I would of done it anyway but when it happened I thought of the reminder on this board on misfires and making sure to reset the load. Sure enough the bullet was 1/2 way down the bore it could of been ugly as it was it just hit about 1 1/2" right at 50.

That's the reason I won't be sold on the 209 ignition system in the 700ML. It's just a matter of time before one lets loose and someone will be hurt by the scenario that you stated and it will be blamed on the breechplug being too short when in actuality it's a barrel obstruction. You just don't need that amount of force for ignition, just the heat. But it's great that you're being careful and checking. Keep mindful of your loading pressure. If a 209 won't set off the load believe me, there is another problem that needs solved first. Good Shooting!

It was a mistep on my part. I loaded the gun with out popping a primer and maybe a piece of teflon tape was over the hole or the oil in the flash channel stopped it from going bang
