But 4 was still pretty good. First time I have shot this load since last year and hopefully it will be the last. Scope hadn't been touched since last year either, did hit a little high though. Unless I whiff in bow season, the Ole Girl is done for the year. Did not time it today since I'm using the same powder lots as last year, but it hovers around 2600fps consistently. Components: .50 cal 250 FTX 23gr-N110/47gr-H322 Fed 209A 200yds -1.565" first 3 were 1.205", a personal best with this gun.

Thats the great thing about these guns once you have found a consistant load you can set it and forget it!

That is nice shooting for the 50 at 200yds. And I get the same repeatable results with a range visit before hunting season every year once the right load is found. Regardless of choice of method for harvesting deer, Good Hunting.

Good shooting dave.Wish you luck with the bow but then I love dropping them with the savage also. Best of luck with either. Since I have tried most of richards loads I may have to try that one of your's when I get the chance.

Dave W............Nothing worng with that four shot group. I don't actually consider shot #4 out of the group. It is what the load and trigger puller are capable of. Remember, that crosshair is NOT always 100% in the same spot every shot. When distances get longer, exact crosshair placement becomes more difficult. That fourth shot could easily have been #3 or #1. That is a good solid group. Richard

Real "One Holers"..................not those ones sort of just strung together, with muzzle loaders, particularly out past 200 yards are more luck than anything else. MOA is more realistic and still beyond 200 yards.....................you need some luck. Poor BC coupled with wind and the ability to hold and aim that precise make for less than perfect results. However, when opportunity and preperation meet? Bug holes sometimes do appear! Also Dave, your choice of target and description are clear and uncluttered! Richard

I like 1" grids also, I know how good or bad it is after each shot. Couse it works against me too when the first two are tight, lot of puckering before the 3rd shot gets on its way. Thanks Dan and td.

DB.............I'm not picking on him, I am trying to bring him around to my way of thinking ;D I just do not like "clutter" When someone is trying to show me something, I shouldn't have to get eye strain trying to figure out what they are trying to show me? If that is Pickin', the I guess I'm a picker One of these days Herman is also going to buy that sheet of HOMASOTE board for his target backers also ;D Richard
