Ok so after the 26 shots at the range sighting in i remove the breechplug. Not to hard a little resistance but the anti sieze helps it break loose. Now the vent liner, the 1/8 allen rounds off leaving my attempt unmoved. I try another 1/8, same result. Ok lets soak it in some breakfree and order the new style with 3/8 socket head from savage. 10 days ago prior going to the range i used a copper anti sieze on both breech and vent. I did tighten so lightly the vent a tad with allen wrench prior but apparently to savage to much so my bad. The original vent and breech plug are still tight together and hopefully someday i will seperate. meanwhile the new breech plug and vent liner arrive. The threads are terribly burred and the breech is poorly made, i called Savage and they are sending new and paying for the product to be returned. I like savage a lot however the breechplug i recieved was sub par. I would not even attempt to thread it into my ML. I am new to 10ml and I am hoping this is just lemon that escaped. I will take blame for the old breechplug and vent liner because i did not use enough ant sieze. however, i want to know if anyone else has recieved a breechplug with burred threads?

Not that I can recall...one tip here on the ventliner..you must put anti-seize not only on the threads but the underside of the head where it mates in its final resting place.

I got two of the 3/8 plugs last month and I couldn't find a fault with either of them. Glad they are making it right thou.

I drove an oversize torx bit into my stuck vent liner and got it out relatively easy. Maybe the hammering helped break it lose. Just my two, Rusty

Put breech plug in a vice, drive in the torx wrench, heat with a propane torch applying pressure and it will come out. I use lightweight teflon tape on the vent and heavy weight on the breech plug with a light coating of antiseize keeps mine from sticking.
