There is a reason for that. There were so many problems with it that it is the only smokeless powder banned by name in your Savage manual. You get some good velocities with Lil'gun but you have to be very consistent with your loading practices to get decent results. Then it is like cocaine to a drug head, the more you use the better accuracy you get and before you know it your beyond the safety envelope. 10 Years ago there was guys pushing 300gr bullets to almost 3000fps. Myself I was pushing a 240gr XTP Mag in the 2800-2900 range. But then your vents would only last 30 shots if you were lucky and if you didn't watch and the vent got over .037" you were asking for trouble. I had one vent go from less then .032" to almost .037" in 10 shots.
Today bullets are a lot better and sabots are much better so you do not need the "faster then the speed of heat". Take it from someone who has been there, done that, got the T-shirt and could write the book plus make the movie. Your much better off with book powders to learn on then graduate to 4198 or N120 for heavier bullets and if you still want to step into the twilight zone try duplexing.
