First off I had been saving this load till it got a little cooler, wanted to try it because it shot so good back in the winterbut as the temp warmed I would have some blown sabots.
When I left the house this morning it was 60 degrees when I got set up at the range it was 62 when I got through shooting it was 66 degrees.
The first target (one on top) the shot hit high so adjusted my scope.Next shot went allmost in the dot so set the scope for this to be zero.Wanted about an in high so went up 4 clks.Next 3 went where they were susposed to.
Next target was 200 yds with cross hairs at the 4 clks high.First to went side by sideat 2 o'clock. The next 2 went about an in apart,so figured it was ok for deer.
Next went to 300 yds.My average fps was 2977.Shooting N110 at 17grs under N130 at 56 grs and the 200 sst's.
First shot was high useing the pwr ring at 16 pwr.So went to 8 pwr it was too low.Decided to try 12 pwr and first dot.It went just on top of the dot I was shooting at.The dots I am shooting at are .560 and my dot covers them so there is a little guessing where holding.
The next shot I put the dot on top of my dot so I could see it a little. It went about 2 inches lower,so figured I was going to have a good group if I could get the next one between the first 2.Shot again and it cut the last hole. Now its time to get serious, never dreamed I could put the next one so close. To my surprise this turned out to be the smallest group I have gotten at 300 yds. This measured .681 in.
Now back to the 100yds target to see how my scope tracked.
Turned the dial down to zero it hit at 3 o'clock all most touching the dot.(bottom target)
Turned it back up 4 clks and shot the next 3 wow a one holer in the exact same position on the target as the first group.
Whats so funny about these last 4 was that I didn't use the cooling rod.I loaded and shot one after the other. The barrel was warm afterwards but not hot enough to jerk my hand off.
Think I was more tickled with the repeat group at 100 yds than I was with the small group at 300 yds.
