I received my new breech plug today from Savage. I know many are wanting the newer style with the hex head on it but the one they sent me is the older style. I just wanted to pass the word to everyone that you might be considering purchasing a new breech plug. You probably need to ask for the newer hex head style. I assumed that is the one they sent me. Nonetheless I am happy to have new breech plug. Just wanted to pass the info to everyone just in case they are considering purchasing a newer style one from Savage. I can't wait to get to the range!

mtj555 Good advice! I would not have thought to specify the hex head version either. I thought they were discontinuing the old style completely.
I will be looking forward to seeing your range report posts! Boarhog/Robert

yeah, when I ordered a couple I asked for the new hex style, good thing as she had it down for the old style.

I will eventually order another one. I will make sure I specify this time. I like the idea of not having to loosen the action to get it out.
