Sure.....why not? As long as you get it set up with a BP. In a ML, its the barrel that contains everything. I'm sure dave d will give you the low down on it! Richard

If you decide to do the 700 ml smokeless, I have a new savage breechplug. I will sell the bolt kit with the savage plug and ventliner for 100.00 shipped.

Hunter do you have more than 1 of those kit?. I have a 700 m/l that I had to convert to 209 myself. It was a nipple and firing pin swap kit several years back. I would like to change it to smokeless also. I plan on buying a pacnor barrel if I can get the snout for the bolt and the breech plug. I like the 209 on the bolt like the savage rather than the shell casing type conversions.

super7; Yes I have several kits with the breech plug to fit the remington 700ml. If you want the savage plug to do the pacnor barrel, I only have 2. Our plug is designed similar to the savage plug. It depends on which barrel you are using.

Hunter, I might have missed it in the past, but would you have a photo of the bolt conversion kit and plug? I have an unfired custom shop Remington 700ML that i have often considered converting. I would no doubt go with the Pacnor barrel since i am already familiar with it on one of my Savages. I assume Pacnor makes a barrel that is ready to screw onto the 700ML receiver? Is it necessary to send the rifle to Pacnor to have the barrel mounted and headspaced or can a guy do it himself with a barrel wrench? Too bad it isn't easy like the Savage "quick change" system................ Thanks for any info! KerryB

:)Kerry unless you have a adjustable Bp the Remington will need to be headspaced of the shoulder. If it was a cf action you could get a Pa plug and file down the nose of the plug to headspace.

:)I just thought of another way if you don't mind a barrel nut you could have one made that way then you could heaspace like the savage. It wouldn't be pretty but headspaceing would be a snap.
