I've debated putting this up for awhile, trying to decide whether it was even necessary. But it's kind of been bothering me for awhile, so here it goes.
I owe a lot of the people on this board an apology. I don't know most of you, but as the new guy I came on here asking advice about a bulged barrel. When the advice was given, I didn't exactly take it very well. I like to think I know a lot about muzzleloaders, especially inlines, but smokeless is a totally different beast and I don't know much about it. Rather than admit that, I decided to disagree and kind of argue with all the guys that do know what they're talking about. I've still been on here most days reading what people have to say, and I've learned a lot, but I don't really feel like I have any place to post about anything. Anyway, to those that I offended, I'm sorry. That's not really the kind of person I am.

Hey Buddy, I don't know if anyone was offended or not, what I am sure of is that it takes a man to say I am sorry to a bunch of strangers. I take my hat off to you Sir, Rusty

superkirby, I have been on the board around 2.5-3 years I think. Smokeless muzzle loading is a whole new game. Some guys on here were lucky and got a good stock barrel that shot lights out. Some such as me were unlucky and got a bad barrel or two. I sent my gun back to Savage, re barreled and my gun still would not shoot consistent. I though the people on this board were pulling on the truth a little. After 11 different bullets, 13 different sabots and six different powders with I forget how many combos of the above I shot. Then I got a PacNor per other's advise on this board and followed RB and others load advice. First group was sub moa and the rest for the last year with that gun has been consistent sub moa. I purchased another used Savage and it will shot good with one load with the ramrod removed but as soon as funds are available it will be PacNored. Don't think bulged barrel is the end of the world as my first one from the factory was bulged. The second barrel shot a little better but not consistent. Fellows on this board have pretty thick skin and are forgiving of newcomer as we have been in the same shape you are. Keep reading, reporting what you shoot and how your gun and loads shoot and the people on this board will be glad to help. Just be open minded and remember we all have bad days and make mistakes. Your apology will be accepted by most.

Superkirby..............Hmmmmmmmmm funny, I don't ever remember being offended by you??? Oh, well, your forgiven ;D Don't let things like that bother you! Hey, I have been on this board for some three years now and probably offended numerous people. I started out butting heads with the "click" but eventually got them around to my way of thinking ;D ;D I have found that if you can argue intelligently, people will not be overly offended. I am one of those A-holes that bulged my NEW Pac-Nor barrel. Stupid mistake Richard

I've only been really irritated by one guy since I joined this board, and it wasn't you. Pretty much everyone here wants you to succeed. Lots of guys here have "Been There, Done That, and Got The T-shirt"! There is a learning curve for smokeless shooting, that I couldn't imagine applied to me, since I've been muzzleloading for some 40 years, but I have been taught more than a few things since joining. Do not hesitate to ask questions, or describe a problem you're having, and folks here will try to help. Robert/Boarhog

I shot my first ML in 1959 with my grandad. I was 9 and have been hooked ever since. I learn new and re-learn stuff every day and try to give sound advice if I feel confident in its reliability. Last year the Savage was certainly a new experience and I'm re hooked. Bought the MLII last year new and got it to shoot MOA+. Now I have another MLII and a .45 Encore SML to tune up this season. I'm so anxious for the weather to cool. Predicting more 100+ coming week. As for messing thing up I have bulged a barrel on a BP gun being stupid and have seen other people do some incredibly ignorant stuff. Safety first and always be ready to learn. 10 ga

The fact that you'd come on here, especially without being called out, and offer an apology tells me all I need to know about your personality. Don't sweat it, seems nobody is bent out of shape. Don't be afraid to post, you don't have to be an expert to have a place. I haven't had two dozen shots through my smokeless gun yet and I'm posting! I just try to qualify what I offer as conjecture, opinion, or really know through experience or took from one of the experts.

I think most people here would let you know if they are offended. I may unintentionally offend some because I am an admitted blabbermouth. But since I am older than dirt most just look over my mistakes. I say mistakes because if I offend anyone it would be a mistake and unintentional. But, I admire you for making your post here. Keep posting and feel at home. You are a member and your comments are appreciated. Ben
