I have been reading the posts on the vent liners and I understand the 700rem. coversion due to the blowback in the bolt. In other guns such as the encore and omegas are these vent liners necessary when shooting BH209? I know this is a dumb question but I just had to ask. If just a vent liner where in a rem700 breech plug would that help defeat all the blowback?

I don't know how much wear and tear BH puts on flashholes, but a Savage or Leigh ventliner will be way harder then a factory TC plug.
On the 700ML I can't see it making a difference. Their 209 nipple is the culprit for the huge amount of blowback. I really think Remmy would've had THEE inline if they would've put a little/lot more thought in their ingnition system.

IMHO, if your 700ML has a unmodified/ non primer holding bolt there is nothing you can do to eliminate the blow back. The firing pin/plunger will not hold the primer on/in the seat and will allow the primer to move opening the way for blow back.
