I see that Rage (FINALLY) is making a 125g broadhead. That means I can use them on my Crossbow. I have to have that heavy of a tip to meet manufacturer specs........anything less than 405g total and voids the warranty. Anyway, that's what shoots best, also.
The question is..........should I 'ditch' the Spitfires and get some Rage 125g's? I don't bowhunt a lot..........actually very little. Is it worth it? I've heard nothing but great things about Rage......

Buckrub, my comments about the Rage are based on my experience with compound bows, not X-bows, so take that into consideration.
I shot the Rage for two years; yes, they shot "just like field tips", but so do many other mechanicals. (See my report on G5's for what I think is the best of the fixed blade heads.)
My problems with Rage included failure of the o-rings to keep the blades depressed in the quiver, premature deployment of the blades in flight, and failures in penetration.
I hope SW and Deadon will respond; SW has done all the relevant research and Deadon is now in the process of outfitting his new X-bow.

My son and I have used 100 and 125g Spitfires, 125g Thunderheads, and both 2 and 3 blade Rages almost exclusively for > 80 deer and 2 bear. None work very well for bad hits, such as scapulas. All work well for good hits. My son has had 2 long trackings with 2 blade Rage hits. Actually I tracked and killed both - he had to go to college on both days. I think I would prefer a 125g Spitfire over a 125g Rage. I have not missed even 1 year of killing at least 1 deer a year with a Spitfire since they first came out. Only this year am I likely to become a "traitor" and will use 125g Slick Trick Magnum(1 1/8" 4 blade ). The 125 g Spitfire is about as good as it gets. I will have a 125g ST in my x-bow and about 6 arrows with 125g Spitfires in my small belt field quiver(kept in my pack). I will use the 125g STs with my Palmer recurve bow and 2117 XX-78s, 5" left helical. Impact is the same with both with my SF. The Rage does make an impressive entrance hole as advertised. Hopefully all this helps some, somehow.

I really think that the Rage broadheads are pretty good ones but I had problem with them in my quiver. The little 0-rings wouldn't always hold the blades in place but I believe that Rage has corrected that problem now. I do have a three pack of 125 Rage three blades that I will sell really cheap.
