I've recently begun to reload cast bullets to shoot in my .357 Blackhawk, 9mm Ruger P95 and a 9mm Kel Tec carbine I picked up recently. I'm experiencing some leading in the barrel of the carbine. What's the best thing out there to remove the leading. Thanks, Zen

lewis lead remover tool works well. Also if your getting a lot of lead you may want to slow your bullets down a little and start using a gas check on your lead bullets.

I just realized you are only asking how to remove leading and not stop it from forming.
Why are you putting up with it?

I just realized you are only asking how to remove leading and not stop it from forming. Why are you putting up with it? Ken Ken... I like to shoot alot, so I shoot alot of cast lead bullets. Good quality cast bullets run about half what a jacketed bullet will run. When I load them to shoot above 1000fps the barrels will lead up. Thanks to Mike I've found that a couple of strokes with a piece of choir-boy [copper] wrapped around a wire brush will take care of any buildup. Zen Zen

Bronze wool from Brownell's will also work well. There is a good read about shooting lead bullets at Montana Bullet works in the help section. According to the bullet maker, one of the biggest causes of leading is residual copper in the bore that acts like sand paper to the lead. You might try cleaning your bore really good with some copper bore solvent and see if the problem improves.
