chuck41: All things are relative I guess, to an Ohioan, Arkansas sounded like a warm, friendly place to stay for the winters but then you go further south to Texas.

Gonna be in the 80s today. The UOD is a short sleeved shirt, pair of shorts and no "T". Finished off with white tenni sneakers a burrito in one hand and a marguireta or a Corona in the other.
My wife was from Troy Ohio. Then she met this southern AF boy and figured he would be a ticket to warmer weather.

Air Force, Wright Patterson may have been a duty station for you chuck41. My father was old enough to have served in the Army AirCorp. I live about 50 miles from Troy.

Was at WPAFB from 70-72 going to AFIT. Air Force said they needed Electrical Engineers so bad they sent me to school to get the degree. Then they sent me to Thailand to fly in the back of F105s. Buckrub, Naah. She picked me up there in Ohio. Found out I was gonna get shipped to Southeast Asia and she wouldn't have to put up with me for a whole year, but still get to live in my house, shop in the BX and her two kids would get AF medical. That's a hard offer for a girl to resist. However, the joke was on her cause I came back and she's had to put up with me for 37 years. Shucks you could commit murder 1 and not get that bad a sentence.

We could have almost crossed paths. I graduated from Wright State in 1970, in Jan 1971 I enlisted in the Army.
