1st group of 3 shots - 43 gr. 4759, 250 XTP, short black MMP sabot ----- 5" spread left to right, 1" horizontal. Next group ---- 43gr. 4759, 300 XTP, Harvester RCR, group --- ;D ;D 1 1/8" ;D ;D I think I have found my load. Tonight I used a lead sled to shoot, it seemed to work well. Waited 15 minutes between shots at 77 degrees and dropping a couple of degrees in an hour and a half. These groups were shot with a clean barrel after the other night removing a seized vent liner. I am still going to try to get the 250gr XTP's shooting. Thanks for everyones tips and advice on this forum. Beanstir

Try shooting those 250's with 47 gr. of the same powder and the red crush rib sabot and see how she does. This has been Herman's "go to" load with his .50. Depending on whether you like to shoot a lot, you might consider getting a Kool Rod which can cut your wait time down to less than 5 minutes between shots. I average about 4 min. between shots, rarely (maybe three or four in 1400 shots) blow a sabot and get excellent groups with high velocity. Both with my .50 and my .45. Richard

You can also try Rem.458 300 grn w/black ribbed sabot same powder 43grn, my guns love this load 1 -11/4 inch all day(only went to H4198 for more speed)or xtp 250 w/mmp short black. Also some find tighter groups with a fouled barrel, but 1 1/8 is a great group. Waiting between shots is a great ,as it gets cooler temps. you might even see improvement.

I shoot 44grs of 4759 with the 250gr XTP and it shoots under an inch.
