Good Morning, My first post and am now in my late 60's decided to buy my first inline black powder. Found a used Knight disc 45 cal muzzle loader for $250. or best offer. Seems to be by the pictures a blue barrel model. Is this a good price and will I be able to get the primer disks with no trouble. Thanks for the help and I'm looking forward to being a member of this forum. Bill

Porboy,Welcome to Dougs, you will find some great folks here Sounds like a good price to me. I used to shoot a Disc Elite and may have some red disc at my Hunt club. If I do I will send them to you. I think they should be pretty easy to find as there were a gazillion made. Check Midsouth Shooters Supply or do a WTB on the Buy sell or trade section of this board..

250 might be an ok price but it aint nothin great. If it was me and I was going to get my 1st i'd go with a 50 cal SS, last time I looked cabelas had cva wolfs for 150 bucks. Don't misunderstand me, I like my knight rifles, their triggers are great on the extreeme, elite, disc, mk85. They shoot far better than I do, and are american made. When knight 1st came out with the 45's they had a terrible time with them. They had a 1:20 twist (which was later changed to a 1:30). Yes you can still get both the red and orange disc. Good luck with what ever you decide to do, welcome to the addiction.

I would buy it at $250 if you pass on it. If you decide to move on it,,make sure the owner tells you the bore condition. That is everything with a ML.

Sounds like an OK deal if the bore is excellent. It helps if you know the owner and know some history on the rifle. A bolt gun is definitely a couple of steps up on the evolutionary scale compared to a slam- fire gun or an in-line with an external hammer. If for some reason you dislike the Knight disc there are a lot of it's fans here that will take it off your hands. In other words, the Disc will get you your money back where the other two designs will not. Remove the breechplug and inspect the bore. If there is any rough spots or galling walk away. There are a couple of design flaws on that rifle, but the guys on this site have all that stuff addressed. Welcome to this board and "Good Shooting"!
